Precision Single Track Mixing for Modern Records

Transform your raw multitracks into a cohesive, punchy, and emotionally resonant record. We provide professional mixing services that bridge the gap between a home demo and a commercial release, ensuring every element of your arrangement has its own space and purpose.

Mixing is more than just balancing volume levels; it is the art of sonic sculpture. When you submit a single track for mixing, the goal is to translate the energy of your performance into a format that sounds professional across all playback systems—from high-end club monitors to smartphone speakers. At Banaedgezen, we approach every track as a unique piece of art, focusing on the emotional intent of the song while applying rigorous technical standards.

Our workflow in Melbourne combines the warmth of high-end analog-style processing with the surgical precision of modern digital tools. By focusing on phase coherence, spectral balance, and dynamic control, we ensure that your drums hit hard, your bass remains tight, and your vocals sit perfectly on top of the mix without fighting the instrumentation. Whether you are producing synth-heavy pop, organic indie, or hard-hitting urban beats, our mixing process is tailored to the genre's specific demands.

The Path to a Polished Mix

01

File Analysis & Prep

We begin by auditing your stems for technical issues. We check for clipping, phase alignment, and consistency in sample rates to ensure the foundation is solid before any creative processing begins.

02

Static Mix & Balance

The most critical stage. We establish the core volume levels and panning. By creating a strong static mix first, we ensure the song's energy is driven by the arrangement rather than relying on effects.

03

Sonic Sculpting

Using EQ, compression, and saturation, we carve out frequencies. We remove "mud" from the low-mids and add "air" to the vocals, creating a three-dimensional soundstage where every instrument is audible.

04

Automation & Final Polish

We add movement through volume and effect automation. This ensures the chorus hits harder than the verse and that transitions feel natural, resulting in a dynamic, professional record.

Who is this service for?

Our single track mixing service is designed for a variety of creators who have the vision but lack the acoustic environment or technical tools to achieve a commercial sound. It is ideal for:

  • Independent Artists: Those who record their own vocals and instruments but need a professional ear to bring the elements together.
  • Home Producers & Beatmakers: Creators who excel at composition but struggle with the "muddy" sound often associated with bedroom studios.
  • Small Labels: Boutique labels looking for a consistent sonic signature for their artists without the overhead of a full-time staff engineer.
  • Songwriters: Those producing high-quality demos that need to sound like finished records for pitching to publishers or major labels.

Technical Workflow & Collaboration

Working with Banaedgezen is a streamlined online experience. Once your project is initiated, all communication is handled via email and secure file-sharing platforms. We don't believe in "black box" mixing; we want you to feel involved in the creative direction. After the initial mix is completed, you will receive a high-quality WAV file for review.

The revision process is where the mix is truly refined. You provide specific, timestamped feedback (e.g., "at 1:24, the snare is too loud"), and we implement those changes. This collaborative loop ensures the final product aligns perfectly with your artistic vision. All work is performed in our 24 m² control room in Melbourne, utilizing ATC SCM25A and Genelec 8341A monitoring to guarantee accuracy in the low-end and stereo imaging.

Preparing Your Session

To achieve high-quality results, the condition of the input files is paramount. We cannot "fix" a poorly recorded source, but we can certainly enhance a clean one. To ensure a smooth process, please adhere to the following technical requirements:

  • Stem Format: Files must be exported as WAV or AIFF.
  • Sample Rate: 44.1kHz or higher.
  • Bit Depth: 24-bit is required for maximum dynamic range.
  • Headroom: Please ensure your stems peak at -6dB. Avoid using limiters or heavy compression on your master bus before exporting stems.
  • Organization: Clearly label every track (e.g., "Kick_In", "Lead_Vocal_Main", "Synth_Pad_L").

For a detailed step-by-step guide on how to export your session, please visit our guide on preparing stems for mixing.

What You Receive

Upon completion and final approval, we deliver a comprehensive package of files to ensure you have everything needed for distribution and promotion. Each delivery is meticulously checked for technical compliance before being sent.

  • Main Mix: A high-resolution 24-bit WAV file of the full mix.
  • MP3 Version: A 320kbps MP3 for quick sharing and reference.
  • Instrumental Mix: The full mix without lead vocals (essential for DJ sets and sync licensing).
  • TV Mix: A version with backing vocals but no lead vocals.
  • Clean Mix: An edited version removing explicit content (if requested).
  • Technical Report: A brief summary of the integrated loudness (LUFS) and true peak levels.

Timeline and Delivery

Our average turnaround time for a single track mix is 5 business days. This window allows us to step away from the mix and return with "fresh ears," which is vital for objective quality control. The timeline begins once the deposit is paid and all technically compliant stems are received.

If your project is time-sensitive, we offer a rush service. For an additional 30% fee, we can prioritize your track in our queue to ensure a faster delivery. Please note that our monthly capacity is limited to 15 tracks to maintain the high quality standards for every client.

Exclusions: What is Not Included

To maintain transparency, it is important to note what the Single Track Mixing service does not cover. These items may be quoted separately if required:

  • Mastering: Mixing and mastering are two distinct stages. This service ends at the "mixdown." For a final commercial polish, please see our single track mastering service.
  • Audio Restoration: Extreme noise removal (e.g., removing a loud air conditioner from a vocal) is not included and may require additional hourly fees.
  • Arrangement Changes: We do not rewrite song structures or move sections of the song.
  • Re-recording: We cannot record new parts for you; we only work with the files provided.

Pricing and GST

Our pricing is transparent and inclusive of Australian Goods and Services Tax (GST). For B2B clients, GST can be claimed as an input tax credit. All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD).

A 50% deposit is required to secure your slot in the production calendar. Final payment is due upon approval of the final mix before the high-resolution files are delivered. Frequently Asked Questions

How many revisions are included in the price?

We include 3 rounds of revisions. This is typically more than enough to perfect a track. We ask that you gather all your feedback into a single list per round to keep the process efficient.

Do you provide a separate mix for mastering?

Yes. We provide a "pre-master" file with sufficient headroom (usually peaking around -6dB) to ensure your mastering engineer has the space they need to work.

What happens if I need more than 3 revisions?

Additional revisions can be requested and are charged at our standard hourly rate. We strive to get it right within the first three rounds by communicating clearly about your vision.

Will you own the rights to my music?

Absolutely not. You retain 100% ownership of your intellectual property and copyrights. We only provide the technical service of mixing. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for full legal details.
