Studio FAQ & Technical Guide
Welcome to the Banaedgezen knowledge hub. To ensure a seamless collaboration between your creative vision and our technical execution, we have compiled a comprehensive guide covering every aspect of our workflow. Whether you are a bedroom producer or an established independent artist, these answers provide the clarity needed to prepare your project for professional polishing.
Our process is designed for transparency and precision. From the initial upload of your stems to the final delivery of your masters, every step follows a strict set of technical standards to maintain sonic integrity. If your specific query is not addressed below, please feel free to reach out via our contact page.
To initiate a project, please visit our contact page and provide details about your track, including the number of stems and the desired sonic direction. Once we agree on the scope, a deposit of 50% is required to secure your slot in our production calendar. After the deposit is confirmed, you can upload your files according to our technical specifications.
Our average turnaround is 5 business days. This window allows our engineers to properly prepare the session, execute the mix or master, and perform a quality control check in our 24 m² control room. Please note that this timeframe starts from the moment all correct technical files are received and the deposit is paid.
Yes, we provide a rush service for projects that require a faster turnaround than our standard 5 business days. A rush fee of 30% is added to the total cost of the service. Please enquire via contact form to check current availability for priority slots.
We maintain a strict monthly capacity of 15 tracks to ensure that every project receives the undivided attention of our lead engineers. Projects are scheduled in the order that deposits are received. This ensures that we never compromise on quality for the sake of volume.
To maintain professional fidelity, all incoming stems must meet the following criteria: a sample rate of 44.1kHz or higher and a bit depth of 24-bit. We request that you provide files as WAV or AIFF; compressed formats like MP3 are not accepted for mixing or mastering.
For mastering, please ensure your final mix has a peak headroom of -6dB. This provides our mastering engineer with the necessary space to apply processing without introducing digital clipping or unwanted distortion. Avoid using limiting or heavy compression on the master bus before sending it to us.
Generally, we prefer "dry" stems for mixing to have full control over the spatial environment. However, if a specific effect is integral to the creative identity of the sound, please provide both a dry version and a wet version. This allows us to blend the effect precisely into the final mix.
Clear naming is essential for efficiency. Please use a consistent format: [TrackName]_[Instrument]_[Version]. For example: "SummerNight_Kick_Dry.wav" or "SummerNight_LeadVocal_Tuned.wav". This reduces the risk of errors and speeds up the session setup process.
Every single track service includes 3 rounds of revisions. We believe this is sufficient to refine the sonic balance and align the result with your vision. Revisions should be requested as a consolidated list of specific changes rather than multiple separate emails.
If the project requires additional adjustments beyond the included 3 rounds, these will be billed as extra hours of work. The specific rate for additional revisions is detailed in our Terms and Conditions.
Changes to the song structure or arrangement after the mixing process has begun are considered a new project request and may incur additional fees. We strongly advise finalizing all edits and arrangements before submitting your stems to the studio.
The most effective feedback is time-stamped and descriptive. Instead of saying "the chorus feels off," please specify "at 1:24, the snare is too loud compared to the vocal." This precision allows us to implement changes accurately and quickly.
Upon final approval and payment, you will receive a high-resolution WAV file (24-bit) and a high-quality MP3 version. We also provide a detailed loudness report including LUFS and True Peak measurements to ensure your track is ready for distribution.
Banaedgezen does not claim any ownership or copyright over your music. All intellectual property remains with the artist. We only provide the technical service of engineering. For more details, see our Privacy Policy regarding data handling.
We provide secure storage for your project files for 6 months following the final delivery. This allows you to request minor adjustments or retrieve files if you lose your local copies. After this period, files are permanently deleted from our systems to protect your privacy.
No, the client is solely responsible for ensuring that all samples, covers, and third-party materials used in the submitted tracks are legally cleared. By submitting your work, you confirm that you hold the necessary rights to the material.
For registered businesses and labels, we offer B2B payment terms. While the deposit remains required for scheduling, the final balance for B2B clients is payable within 14 days of the final invoice date.
Yes, all prices listed on our services page are inclusive of the 10% GST. We provide full tax invoices for all transactions, detailing the amount before and after tax for your accounting purposes.
Cancellation policies depend on the stage of production. Since the deposit secures a specific time slot in our limited monthly capacity, deposits are generally non-refundable once work has commenced. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions for the full cancellation policy.
We accept all major electronic payment methods. Once your project is confirmed, we will send a secure payment link or bank transfer details via email. Work begins only after the 50% deposit is successfully processed.
